Treatment

The treatment of the parvo virus disease is simple and requires a lot of support therapy. It involves the replacement of the loss of fluids through diarrhea and vomiting. This is done by injecting the body with a balanced solution of electrolytes especially in severe cases. When the cases are mild, the treatment can be registered orally. They may also be then need of antibiotic therapy in order to control the infection by secondary infections caused by bacteria. The animal may also be given corticosteroids especially if it is in shock. Other activities done to improve the condition include the restriction of different types of food as well as the de-worming of the canines.
