President's
Turn
by George Raeder
The upcoming
December meeting is your opportunity to contribute significantly to
the welfare and ongoing success of the North Coast Woodturners' club.
Other than dues, our annual December auction is the primary source of
income used to finance professional demonstrations and other club
activities.; We need each of you to donate tools, fixtures, unused
machinery, shop and woodturning support equipment, good wood, and
other related items for auction by member and professional auctioneer
Tom Nero and his capable helpers.
Just
as importantly, bring lots of money to buy the many useful items that
members donate. These items will be things you need, not
necessarily things you want. You are also encouraged to bring
relatives, neighbors, and other preferably wealthy guests who are
interested in woodworking to help drive the bidding and support our
cause. Or is it an addiction? A great three hours is guaranteed, as we
always have good fun with much humor in the auctioneering process
thanks to Tom. The bidding is lively and economically productive for
the club. So please bring lots of good stuff and lots of good money.
On
another subject, as my tenure as President winds down, I want to thank
each of you for the opportunity to serve NCWT. It has truly been a
privilege to help lead a wonderful group of people with common
interests within an organization that contributes so much to the
enhancement of our woodturning abilities. I have had many memorable
experiences as a member of NCWT and have befriended a wide variety of
interesting, helpful and considerate people. I will continue to
contribute to the success of our club in any way I can, and will help
anyone within my abilities to become a better woodturner. Thanks again
for a wonderful ride.

thanks to our 2003/2004 Officers. We wish them luck and
expect to see many fine turnings in Turn and Learn -
Show and Tell in the near future from these generous and
caring individuals. We appreciate their hard work and
dedication to NCWT. |
Thanks
to Tom Wisnieski and Jim Berryman who
stayed after the October meeting to put together the club's
new lathes in preparation for Stuart Batty's hands-on

also to Paul Kosmos and Greg Jensen for
setting up the shop for the Stuart Batty hands-on session. A
source of NCWT shirts was presented at the meeting. Bill

please be sure to pick your items up from Bernie.
