Non-Profit Status!
We now have our IRS forms confirming our 501(c)3 status as a Non-profit Educational organization. This status will enable us to accept donations that are tax deductible to the donor.
Tom Heffernan and Rosemary Macedonio did a great job on this project, since we had to incorporate in the State of Ohio first, and update our bylaws as
Robert Rosand, from Bloomsburg, PA and Vice President of the AAW will demonstrate at the March meeting for both Saturday and Sunday.
We will need help on Saturday morning to bring in Bob’s equipment. Then again on Sunday afternoon to load it back out.
More details will follow in next month’s newsletter.
The Woodworker’s Show will again be held at the Summit County Fairgrounds just north of Akron over March 8,9 and 10, a Fri, Sat, Sun. A very nice facility. The club has tentatively agreed that to will participate again as we have for some years.
Don Gasler will be the Organizae ,and will need about 8-12 volunteers to bring turnings to the show and to demo on the two lathes we will plan to have there. Note that this means we will be having two big weekends in a row. This is one of the few times we get in front of the public, and it’s a major source for our membership. Notify the home front and mark your calendars!
March is a Busy Month!
Soren Berger to visit Akron
Buckeye Woodturners in Akron is hosting internationally known turner Soren Berger on May 25th & 26th.
Timing and a busy North Coast calendar prevents us from having a joint session, but, this may be the excuse many of us need to join this nearby organization!
No, the dog did not eat the mail- due to sudden business travel plans, I was unable to publish the january newsletter. All should be back on schedule now, and I’ve updated the mailing list with all the members from Tom Heffernan’s roster. (You may get this by EMAIL)
