Dick Sing in Nov.
Our regular November meeting will be replaced by a guest turner, who will be here the whole weekend. This year’s visiting turner is a production turner and author, Dick Sing. Turning since 1965, he has demonstrated each year at the Utah Woodturners Conference. Dick also has written a veritable collection of turning books. The November newsletter will contain more information about this action packed weekend.
Don Gasler is our featured turner for October’s meeting. The turn-and-learn project is any turning with a natural edge.
FINE WOODWORKING EARLY ISSUE AUCTION!
Bidding on the Fine Woodworking magazines has been light. Either no interest [I don’t believe this] or you’re shrewedly waiting until the last minute to bid. The auction closes at the October meeting before the end of meeting demo. But no bids below the minimums listed.
FUNDAMENTALS OF WOODTURNING SESSION Sat. Oct. 6th. PM
Following the regular meeting, we will once again have a hands-on session. We’ll have 5 lathes, plus the sharpening station, and can accomodate 10 turners. We are able to accomodate repeat attendees, since the sign-up did not fill up at the September meeting. There is a nominal $10 charge.

The Great Lakes Woodcarvers Fall show will once again feature the North Coast Woodturners. Our club has reserved tables both for showing and selling turnings, and for demonstrating woodturning. Call Jim Pugh if you’re interested in showing (440-458-6224)
The show includes a judging competition, with 5 categories of woodturning. Entries for this must be submitted Friday, or by 9:00 Saturday Morning.
Located at the Strongsville Community center on Rt 82 near Rt 42, the show runs Saturday and Sunday, with setup on Friday.
