Working for long periods of time outdoors can harm your health

When you work outside for long periods of time there are harmful consequences. Getting your feet wet and staying wet for long periods of time can result in a serious health risk to those who work outdoors and are subjected to the elements.

The condition is known as Trench Foot and this name originated from the soldiers in WW1. They stood in the trenches, cold and wet for very long periods of time.

This condition and those who suffer this experience severe pain, swelling, numbness and blotchy skin. The best way to avoid trench Foot is by changing your shoes and socks when they get wet and cold. Depending on the type of job you have it’s not always feasible.
