When To File A Wrongful Death Suit

We all know that life is full of accidents, but some of them are avoidable if people agree to follow basic laws and codes of conduct. I have a good friend whose 8-year-old son was killed in a collision with a driver who was later proven to be severely under the influence. It’s such a moving and upsetting story to me; the driver survived, and he is out on bail while all sorts of motions keep the issue from coming before a judge. A lawyer friend suggested this person file a Wrongful Death suit, to at least help ease the financial burden of the tragedy. It’s so unfair how such preventable circumstances have irreparably damaged two families.
