Occupational Hazard

The states and territories of Australia have responsibilities to bring laws into place on occupational health and safety. Each state and territory in Australia has a basic occupational health and safety plan that states requirements for workplaces to protect the health and safety of the workers.

Some of the hazards can cause such bad injuries or possible disease that  these regulations and codes should be practiced. The regulations are legally enforceable and the codes are not legally enforceable but can be used as legal evidence.

These requirements also state the specific duties of different groups of people who are responsible for the safety and health of workers.
