Do you know your rights as a consumer?
I believe not a day goes by without a person purchasing something. Whether it is a good or service, we all spend money everyday for one thing or another thus making us consumers. Have you ever gone to a restaurant and the staff there treat you badly or the service they offer you is not worth your money? Or have you ever purchased a product only to realize the product does not meet the standards that it says it does? If your answer to these questions is yes, then you do not have to suffer in silence. This is because they are rights of the consumer. Whenever you get less value for your money, they are channels which you can use and complain against this. In different companies, we have had staff fired or products recalled because they do not meet the standards of the consumer. Advertising has a way of exaggerating what a product can do for you and when a consumer uses the product or service it a total flop. Advertisers thus because of the rights and consumer being aware need to scripts their advertisements to only tell the truth. If they choose to lie so that their products can get market then they are in for a shock as consumers these days know there rights. Some consumers have gone to the extent of law suits to get their rights. Some consumers also discourage other people from using the particular product, resulting in losses for the company. This has led to the shut down of some companies. While they are consumers aware of their rights, some do not know them. They get poor services and products and just decide they will not use the product or service again. The problem is not thus solved and companies continue to reap people off.
